Who Was Jack Charles?
Although Uncle Jack was a legend in himself he went through great trauma in his childhood, due to which he sued to spend most of his time in and out of prison being an addict to heroin and he experienced his childhood trauma as one of the stolen generations. Along with musician Archie Roach, he later established an Aboriginal youth while being in prison and they started working on it. Uncle Jack was also a role model for the LGBTQ community as he was gay and a role model for many of the indigenous youth. Throughout his lifetime he earned many awards and nominees as well while he released many of his works.

MS. Gorrie a celebrated actor and activist wrote about the death of Uncle Jack and said that he passed away on the 13th of September 2022. She added that Uncle Jack suffered a stroke and he passed away. She added that Uncle Jack was the most respected and well-known elder in the community and that his death came as a shock and it rocked the whole of Australia itself. Uncle Jack was a member of the stolen generations who was separated from their families when they were young and often they were traumatized because of their work and their separation and the difficulties that they went through. Uncle jack went to jail a total of 22 times as he was addicted to heroin and he used to rob as well. Since 2009 he has not been jailed and he gave up addiction when he reached the age of 60. Apart from being a great actor, Uncle Jack was interested in poetry as well where he initiated writing poetry in the 1970s. Uncle has his education from Salvation Army and continued studying Christian values. He became a role model to many young men as he fought for his rights facing racism and he connected to culture as well. Uncle jack passed away on the 13th of September 2022, eight days after he turned 79 years old, he suffered a stroke and passed away at the Melbourne hospital in Parkville.
